Thanks to it's striking black and yellow patterning, most animals keep their distance. They know it's a warning, letting them know it might be poisonous. This specimen here, however, can be stroked by friends without any danger.
Sitting on a mossy stone, it is quite easy to spot, especially since it is pretty large for an amphibian. It's bright body colour protects it from predators. They may admire its beauty, but it doesn't look good enough to eat.
